Technology is changing education in many ways. Schools and universities are using new tools, data systems, and internet technology to help students learn better and succeed in school. After reviewing the report, I learned about three important ideas: personalized learning, the use of education data, and the importance of technology access. These ideas are important for improving education and helping students succeed.

1.Personalized and Flexible Learning
Personalized learning allows students to learn at their own pace and focus on mastering skills instead of just completing assignments. Technology such as online platforms and adaptive learning programs helps teachers adjust lessons based on each student's needs (Southern Regional Education Board [SREB], 2017).
This idea is important to me as an academic advisor because every student learns differently. Some students work full time, have families, or face other challenges. Flexible learning programs can help them finish their education while balancing their responsibilities. As a learner myself, personalized learning also allows me to study at my own pace and better understand difficult topics.
2.Using Data to Help Students Succeed
Schools collect a lot of information about students, such as grades, attendance, and progress. When this information is connected across education systems, schools can use it to understand needs and improve programs. Predictive analytics can also help identify students who may need extra support. However, protecting student privacy is very important (SREB, 2017).
For my profession, using data can help advisor identify students who may be struggling and provide help before it is too late. It allows schools to make better decisions and improve student success. It also reminds me that protecting student information is a responsibility we must take seriously.
3.Technology and Internet Access
Technology such as online classes, digital tools, and virtual learning requires strong internet access and enough bandwidth. Many schools still struggle to provide reliable internet connections for students and teachers. Without proper technology infrastructure, it becomes difficult to use digital learning tools effectively (SREB, 2017).
Access to technology is very important because many students depend on online resources for their classes. As an academic advisor, understanding these challenges helps me guide students toward programs and resources that support their needs. For my own learning, reliable technology allows me to complete coursework and stay connected with educational resources.
Reflection:
Overall, technology plays a major role in improving education today. Personalized learning helps students learn in ways that work best for them. Data systems allow schools to understand student progress and make better decisions. Technology access ensures students can fully participate in modern learning environments. These ideas are important for my career as an academic advisor because they help me better support students and guide them toward success.

Hi Alejandra,
I enjoyed reading your blog because I think you explained the importance of technology in education very well. I especially liked your point about personalized learning because students all have different schedules, responsibilities, and learning styles. Flexible learning can make a big difference for students who work full time or have families.
I also agree with your discussion about using data to help students succeed. Schools can use information like attendance, grades, and progress to identify students who may need extra support before they fall behind. At the same time, I think you made a great point about protecting student privacy because that information needs to be handled carefully.
